Anthropology is the study of human culture, our own, another’s or the self. This project is centered at the nexus of anthropology and making. Through the act of drawing, and and being with the environment as collaborator, the question is asked what is involved at the moment of making? By taking a closer look at the meaning of drawing and the life of lines, through experiments of drawing in collaboration with the environment, this body of work became a vehicle towards an answer. It is not just the hand that moves to draw, but the whole-body awareness is involved, we do not separate from our bodies or the environment to engage in making. The moment of making becomes observation, movement and description united within the maker and made. Collaborations with the weather, flora and fauna in an urban backyard left traces on paper and traces within the environment. Intertwined in an act of making.
